There is one racing series that has defined, redefined and mastered then remastered the realistic driving game genre for nearly two decades now. None can deny the impact that the Gran Turismo series has had, both on the genre and on the brand of Playstation itself. Much as Forza is synonymous with Microsoft’s Xbox Brand, Gran Turismo *is* Playstation, and Playstation *is* Gran Turismo.
This generation, the Playstation 4 has really knocked it out of the park on the competition front, coming back from a difficult previous generation, Sony are clearly on top this time round, and now it is time for them to rev up one of the biggest aces up their sleeve: Gran Turismo: Sport is sitting in pole position currently waiting to wheelspin its way into the charts, into the consoles and into a great many number of people’s lives next week!
There has yet to be a bad Gran Turismo released, they have all been of such a highly-polished quality that they are well deserving of a place at the top of the podium. From the pristine level of detail and attention put into the models of the cars, to the memories of Le Mans 24… Everybody who has loved this game has a story to tell, and a reason as to why this game is the world’s seminal driving simulator series.
On the 18th October 2017, Gran Turismo: Sport will speed its way onto the next generation with its first Playstation 4 release. And if the past is anything to go by, this’ll be big!
