Season 4 of Overwatch’s Competitive Mode has been causing highs and lows, jubilation and tribulation, pain and promotions since the 28th February. The Triple Tank Meta is still very much alive (although the nerf to Ana’s Biotic Grenade tried to put it in the dirt), and the bizarrely brilliant updates to Lucio and the neew Tank Orisa have probably been the most noticeable changes to this Season.
Lylirra [Community Manager] has provided us, through Blizzard’s forums, a little more information regarding the end of this rollercoaster of a season. As well as a little information regarding the (very quickly) upcoming Season 5.
DATE AND TIMES
Season 4 will officially end on Sunday, May 28 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Monday, May 29 at 00:00 UTC). Season 5 is currently scheduled to launch three days later on Wednesday, May 31 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Thursday, June 1 at 00:00 UTC).
For us at the centre of the
universe timezone, this equates to May h couple of weeks or so can be a major annoyance when you’re in the mind set for a good few competitive matches.
The situation with the Sprays and Logos remains the same as ever; expect to receive your rewards as soon as you log on post-season 4. With bigger, better and far more beautiful rewards if you’re in the Top 500 by the end of the season, the moving sprays always stand out above and beyond all other sprays available!
If you completed your placement matches during Season 4, you will eligible to receive a special spray and player icon. These will be unlocked automatically when you log into your account the first time after the season ends. If you are placed within the Top 500 players on your platform (and in your region) at the end of the season, you’ll receive an extra player icon and animated spray on top of the other seasonal rewards.
The Point rewards are largely unchanged from previous seasons and are as follows:
